advocacy

What is advocacy?

“Making a Difference”, MAD for short, is both the name and the purpose of our advocacy group. Their efforts are concentrated through the Toronto Caucus who meet once a month to discuss issues important to the metropolitan area. They report regularly to the general membership and often circulate petitions of its own when this seems warranted. Contact is also maintained with representatives of all levels of government through the sending of letters. The MAD group’s work can best be summed up as: raising consciousness, making views known to those who might act on them, and being visible support on issues requiring action. A recent and still ongoing concern has been Early Childhood Education.
